The hightrust.id digital wallet

By Megical Oy’s assignment, KPMG performed an assessment of the electronic identification device and identification service of hightrust.id (HTID) in order to establish conformity with the high Level of Assurance (LoA High) of the eIDAS regulation.

Conducted between January 13, 2023 and May 2, 2023, the assessment is based on the 211/2019 O electronic identification service assessment guide of the National Cyber Security Centre of the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency, Traficom.

On 5 December, 2023, the National Cyber Security Centre approved Megical Oy’s HTID identification token and  identification service, which were added to the register of identification service providers maintained by the National Cyber Security Centre.

That makes HTID the first digital wallet in the Finnish Trust Network used as an identification token. Finnish identification tokens include the HTID digital wallet identification token, ID cards and citizen certificates issued by the police, organization certificate cards, mobile certificates, and bank identifiers.

Of the above, the citizen certificate, the organization certificate cards, and the HTID digital wallet identification token are based on certificates issued by the state of Finland, offering a high level of trust and security in the use of digital services.

Currently, the HTID solution is used by over 10,000 healthcare professionals working for Pihlajalinna and Mehiläinen.
