Established in 2011 and domiciled in Helsinki, Megical Oy is a Finnish limited company whose main line of business is software design and production. The company\u2019s auxiliary business name is hightrust.id.<\/p>\n

The company was established to address the public healthcare requirements for high-availability and highly secure mobile devices used via an NFC interface without separate card readers. The software was soon expanded to cover all device platforms and made compatible with the citizen certificate as well as the certificate cards of organizations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t <\/div>\n\n

With regard to mobile devices, it became evident that recurring card reading was detrimental to usability, so a digital wallet where cards could be easily downloaded was created. Finland\u2019s first identification token operating in a digital wallet saw the light of day in December 2023 when hightrust.id was accepted to Traficom\u2019s register of identification services.<\/p>\n

The company is owned by Ilmarinen (10%), a group of Finnish business angels (40%), and the company\u2019s key employees (50%).
